What we collect and why.
Short, plain language. No legalese.
Who we are.
The service operator is Onla ("we", "us"). Questions about this policy: hello@onla.app.
Chat with Noor.
When you use the Noor chat widget on this site, your messages are sent to third-party large-language-model providers to generate a reply. Your conversations are not used to train any AI models and are never sold. The chat session is kept in your browser's local storage only — no analytics cookies are set on this site.
Booking a walkthrough.
When you submit a walkthrough booking — name, phone or WhatsApp number, restaurant name, and your chosen time slot — we store that information and deliver it to our team by email or messaging so we can call you back. It is used for that purpose only.
Limited site usage counts.
We count demo attempts, walkthrough openings and saved walkthrough requests to understand the restaurant website. A random identifier is kept in session storage for your browser tab. Reports cover up to 30 days; older usage records are removed when collection or reporting runs. These records contain no names, contact details, message content, page queries or IP addresses. We do not set analytics or advertising cookies, and we honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track for these counts. Chat session storage is separate.
Restaurant staff workspace.
Staff sign-in uses an essential, HTTP-only session cookie lasting up to eight hours. It is separate from website usage counts. The workspace shows records for the assigned restaurant and stores the staff identity, time, ownership changes and outcome notes for staff actions. Signing out removes the cookie from that browser; removing staff access or rotating its access code revokes existing sessions. Staff should keep notes relevant to the guest request and avoid unnecessary personal information. When staff or Amira change or cancel a reservation, the workspace keeps a history of what changed, when, and who made the change.
Guest phone numbers.
When a guest reaches a restaurant through Onla by phone or WhatsApp, the number they contact us from can be stored with that conversation. It is used to find their existing reservations, to keep their contact on a booking they make, and so the restaurant can call back about a request. It is not used for marketing.
WhatsApp messages and reminders.
When a guest writes to a restaurant on WhatsApp through Onla, their messages and the replies are kept with that conversation so the restaurant's staff can see them. A guest who books on WhatsApp may receive one reminder before the booking, with buttons to keep, change or cancel it. Replying STOP stops reminders from that restaurant.
Your rights.
You can ask us to delete any personal data we hold about you at any time. Email hello@onla.app and we will action the request promptly.
UAE data protection.
We aim to follow the principles of the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021).
