Take delivery and pickup orders by phone, without tying up your team.
How Amira takes a delivery or pickup order from your menu, where it lands for your team, and what isn't included. Try it by ordering from Marsala, our sample restaurant.
Lunch and dinner bring the most order calls, and that is when nobody can stay on the phone for five minutes. If nobody answers, the guest calls the next place or orders through an app that takes a cut. When someone does pick up, they write the order down, check the prices, read it back and type it into the till. Each of those steps can go wrong.
What Amira does on an order call
Most order calls are simple: a few dishes, an address and a way to pay. Amira takes them from your published menu and leaves the pricing to the system.
Takes the order from your menu
Amira offers only the dishes on your published menu. She asks for sizes and other choices, and skips anything marked sold out.
Prices it from the menu
The system prices every order, with the delivery fee and the minimum. Amira never adds up prices herself.
Reads it back
Amira reads back the items, the address, the total and the time.
Places it after a yes
The order is saved once the guest says yes to the read-back. Then Amira gives them an order number.
She also checks the delivery area and your ordering hours. If you don't deliver to the guest's area, she offers pickup.
Guests can order in English or Arabic, and the building and flat are kept as the guest said them. Callers can ask where their order is, or change or cancel it before the kitchen accepts it. Amira finds the order by their phone number.
You can try each of these on Marsala, our sample restaurant, in the ordering demo.
Every phone order on one screen
Orders land in the Onla workspace under New, In the kitchen, and Ready or on the way. Staff move each one on with a tap and can print a kitchen ticket. The same workspace shows your bookings and requests, so phone orders don't need another tablet.
New orders can alert your team on WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Teams or email. An order nobody accepts in time becomes a request for the team.
The menu lives in the same place. Edit it or import it, and mark a dish sold out for the day. Amira stops offering it straight away and suggests something similar from your menu.
Payment, your POS and your number
Orders work in the Onla workspace on their own, and guests pay on delivery or at pickup, as you choose. Sending orders to your POS and payment links are optional, and each is tested with your own account before a guest order goes through it.
| Item | Where it stands |
|---|---|
| Your POS | Onla is built to send phone orders into Foodics or Deliverect. Each connection is tested with your POS account first |
| Payment links | Optional, on WhatsApp, through your own Stripe, Network International, Telr or Tap account. Tested with your account first |
| Your number | Keeping it is the planned approach. We check your carrier and phone setup, then test the connection before go-live |
| Phone ordering | In the ordering demo with Marsala. It isn't switched on for venues yet |
Questions restaurants ask
Can Amira take orders and table bookings on the same line?
Yes. On the same call, a guest can book a table or order for delivery or pickup. Ordering runs in the ordering demo today and isn't switched on for venues yet.
What if a dish is sold out?
Mark it sold out in the workspace. Amira stops offering it and suggests something similar from your menu.
Does Amira make up prices?
No. Every price, fee and total comes from your menu through the system's quote. She doesn't add up prices herself.
How do guests pay?
On delivery or at pickup, as you choose. A payment link on WhatsApp is optional. It needs your payment account and a WhatsApp message template.
Do we need a POS?
No. Orders work in the Onla workspace on their own. Sending them to Foodics or Deliverect is optional.
Do we need a new phone number?
Keeping your number is the planned approach. We check your carrier and phone setup, then test the connection before go-live. Answering behind your existing line is still being built.
What does it cost?
One monthly plan per venue, with no setup fee, and you can cancel any month. The price is agreed on the walkthrough call.
